Popular comedian Nasra Yusuf faced criticism after sharing a comedic video portraying Muslim men during Iftar, prompting her to respond to the backlash.

In the one-minute clip, Nasra acted as a Muslim man, while comedian Najma played the role of his wife, serving him food to break the fast.

However, the video took a controversial turn as Nasra's character appeared to make sexual advances towards his wife, leading to a bedroom scene.

"Kuja nikuonyeshe kitu utaanza nayo... Ngoja, sio hii pande. Nakuonyeshea bedroom, "said Nasra's character.

Despite intending it to be humorous, the video received negative reactions from many viewers who felt it trivialized religion, especially during the sacred month of Ramadan.

Some fans expressed disappointment, with one user citing a Hadith to condemn the content.

“This is not funny at all. Ibn 'Abbas narrated "the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) cursed the women who imitate men and the men who imitate women." This Hadith is Sahih,” wrote Habibty omar.

Ismail Abdi commented saying, “This is not funny ❌ this is utterly disgusting, Somethings cannot be content”, while another user, Abu Asiya wrote, “That’s not content Nasra you can produce proper content without demeaning your religion.”

Responding to the criticism, Nasra acknowledged that not all her content would be universally appreciated but expressed gratitude for the support received amidst the backlash.

She wrote, "You guys just proved that Love will always surpass hate. Thank you for the support ❤️ I know I won’t be funny with every content and I won’t be funny to everyone. And that’s why we have over 100 top comedians in the country, find your favorite and support him/her."
